A growing organization in the hospitality sector is looking for a competent and results-focused Accountant to join its Finance team. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, organized and capable of maintaining accurate financial records. Candidates already living in Narok, as well as those willing and able to relocate, are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Maintain accurate accounting records and financial documents.
- Capture and post daily financial transactions.
- Prepare and reconcile daily sales, cash collection, mobile money, card and bank transaction reports.
- Carry out bank, cash, supplier and customer reconciliations.
- Process supplier invoices, receipts, payment vouchers and other financial documentation.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable.
- Assist with supplier statement reconciliation and payments.
- Participate in stock-taking and compare physical inventory with accounting records.
- Monitor food, beverage and other operating costs and identify major variances.
- Assist with daily, weekly and monthly financial reporting.
- Support month-end closing and preparation of management accounts.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and established accounting procedures.
- Identify and escalate financial discrepancies, unusual transactions and weaknesses in financial controls.
- Assist with statutory and tax compliance activities.
- Handle other accounting responsibilities assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
- 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- CPA qualification or ongoing CPA studies will be an advantage.
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurants, food service, retail or another fast-paced environment is highly desirable.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Experience with POS systems, sales reconciliation, inventory management and cost control will be an added advantage.
