Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Driver Guides to lead, support, and manage a team of professional driver guides. The successful candidate will ensure safe, efficient, and top-quality transport and tour experiences for our clients.

Reporting Structure

Reports to: Head of Fleet Repair & Maintenance

Dotted-line report: Head of Operations

Departments: Operations & Fleet

Key Responsibilities

👥 Team Management

1. Supervise, motivate, and evaluate driver guides
2. Conduct performance reviews and manage team discipline
3. Handle staffing, scheduling, and workload planning

🦺 Safety & Compliance

• Enforce safety policies and regulatory standards
• Oversee safety training and keep accurate compliance records

 

⚙ Operational Efficiency

• Optimize routes, fuel use, and trip timing
• Analyze driver performance and collaborate across teams

🌟 Customer Service

1. Ensure excellent tour experiences
2. Resolve complaints and performance issues
3. Collaborate with sales/marketing to improve service

📚 Training & Development

• Develop training for new and existing guides
• Ensure guides are skilled in language, local knowledge, and safety

🚐 Vehicle Oversight

1. Monitor vehicle readiness and maintenance
2. Coordinate with the garage for repairs and inspections
3. Track fuel usage and cost efficiency

 

Required Qualifications

📅 Experience

• 7+ years in team leadership, transport, or guiding
• Experience managing driver guide teams
• Background in tourism, logistics, or transport

🧠 Knowledge & Skills

• Safety and vehicle operations expertise
• Leadership, communication, and customer service skills
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability

🎓 Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s in Tourism, Hospitality, or related fields (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license
• NIT certification (mandatory)
• First Aid/CPR or other safety certifications (advantageous)

🌐 Bonus Skills (Optional)

• Foreign language skills
• Tech-savvy (navigation & communication tools)
• Crisis handling in tour or transport environment
• Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Outdoor-based with variable weather exposure
• Office/vehicle-based duties occasionally
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, and lift light items when needed
