Who Can Apply? – Academic Requirements
ALL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE:
- Taken 2025 KJSEA Assessments
- From public junior schools OR designated refugee schools
Minimum Academic Scores:
- Kenyan Learners: “Meeting Expectation” to “Exceeding Expectation” (Levels 5–8)
- Refugee Boys: Levels 5–8
- Refugee Girls: “Approaching Expectation” (Level 4) and above
- Special Needs Learners: All achievement levels considered (affirmative action)
Eligibility Criteria – Background Requirements
FROM VULNERABLE BACKGROUNDS INCLUDING:
- Orphans
- Urban informal settlements residents
- Parents/guardians with disabilities affecting income
- Families affected by HIV/AIDS or chronic debilitating illnesses
- Extreme poverty situations
- Victims of neglect/abuse without support
- Learners with special needs and disabilities

COMPLETE & SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION

- PHYSICAL DELIVERY:
- Kenyan applicants → Sub-County Education Office
- Refugee applicants → Sub-County Director of Education OR Camp Manager

What Happens After Elimu Scholarships Application?
SELECTION PROCESS
- Application Review → Verification of eligibility
- Shortlisting → Based on criteria fulfillment
- Interviews → Conducted by Community Selection Advisory Committees (CSACs)
- Final Selection → Based on interview performance
Important: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews (with parent/guardian)
