Staffing Partner Africa is recruiting an experienced Assistant Chef to support kitchen operations at our client’s busy hotel in Nairobi’s Central Business District.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled culinary professional with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality food in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
– Assist in preparing and cooking meals according to menu specifications and quality standards.
– Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely, hygienic, and consistent manner.
– Support the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, including stock control and inventory.
– Maintain high levels of cleanliness, organization, and sanitation throughout the kitchen.
– Monitor food supplies and promptly communicate any shortages or issues to management.
– Strictly observe all food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
Requirements:
– Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant or hotel kitchen.
– Must hold a valid Food Handler Certificate.
– Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety standards.
– Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
– Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
– Genuine passion for food quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction.
