About the Role

As the Risk & Investigations Specialist, you will play a key strategic role in strengthening risk management and investigations at World Vision Kenya.

You will lead the implementation and enhancement of the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework, support internal control and compliance processes, and conduct investigations into misconduct, fraud, safeguarding concerns, and non-compliance across programmes and operations.

Your work will support a culture of integrity, transparency and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the operationalisation of the ERM framework: risk identification, assessment, monitoring, reporting, and embedding risk awareness across departments.
  • Develop and maintain risk registers, track emerging risks, ensure data/ system integrity and support senior leadership with dashboards, analyses and decision-support.
  • Manage complex investigations: receive allegations, assess credibility and materiality, plan and execute investigations in line with internal policies, maintain confidentiality, document findings, prepare reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Build capacity of staff and leadership on risk management, fraud prevention, ethical conduct and investigations best practice.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders (Audit & Risk, Safeguarding, HR/ P&C, Finance, Field Offices) and external regulators/partners.
  • Drive continuous improvement: analyse trends, identify root causes, recommend systemic improvements to controls, processes and culture.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Accounting, Risk Management or a related discipline.
  • Several years’ experience (typically 5+ years) in risk management, investigations, forensic audit or compliance – ideally within an INGO, NGO or similar setting.
  • Proven investigative, analytical and research skills, excellent written and verbal communication; strong stakeholder management capability.
  • Professional certification (e.g., Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or similar) is a strong advantage.
  • Strong ethical standards, discretion and ability to handle sensitive investigations. Familiarity with Kenyan regulatory context and risk environment will be beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and possibly regionally as required.
