Masinde Muliro University Masters Scholarships – Full Details
The Government of Kenya has received financing from the African Development Fund (ADF) to support the HEST Phase II project, aimed at improving access to quality higher education, training and research in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
MMUST intends to use part of the financing to offer scholarships in STEM fields.
1. MASTER’S SCHOLARSHIPS
The University invites applications for Master’s programmes in:
- MSc Industrial Engineering and Management / Mechanical Engineering
- MSc Electrical Engineering
- MSc Information, Communication and Technology-related areas

Master’s Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship package will cover:
- Tuition fees
- Research costs
- For the duration of study
The scholarships are open to Kenyans under the age of 30 years, who will also be engaged as Graduate Assistants.
The funded programmes are scheduled to commence in August 2026.
Master’s Eligibility & Conditions
Applicants:
- Must have obtained at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) in a relevant degree from a recognized and accredited university.
- Upon successful completion of the Master’s programme, candidates will be expected to transition to Ph.D. under the scholarship programme.
- Successful candidates will be bonded under the applicable terms and conditions of MMUST.
- Candidates must complete their studies within the prescribed study period.
- Scholarships are tenable at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.
- Candidates must be registered or registrable with relevant professional and/or regulatory bodies, where applicable.
2. BACHELOR’S SCHOLARSHIPS ATÂ Masinde Muliro University
MMUST also invites applications for scholarships for Bachelor’s programmes in the following thematic areas:

Bachelor’s Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship package will cover:
- Tuition fees for the duration of study
The scholarships are open to Kenyans under the age of 40 years, who will also be engaged as Technicians/Technologists.
The programmes are scheduled to commence in August 2026.
Bachelor’s Eligibility
Applicants:
- Must have obtained a minimum of a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or Diploma in Renewable Energy Technology from a recognized and accredited training institution.
- Successful candidates will be bonded under the applicable terms and conditions of MMUST.
- Candidates must complete their studies within the prescribed study period.
- Scholarships are tenable at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.
- Candidates must be registered or registrable with relevant professional and/or regulatory bodies, where applicable.
