Winnie is Raila Amollo Odinga and Ida Odinga’s fourth and last-born child. She was born alongside her other three siblings: the late Fidel Odinga, Rosemary Odinga, and Raila Junior.
Being born at the time her father was in detention, the fiery and well-articulated young lady was named after the late Winnie Mandela, an apartheid heroine and the ex-wife of the former South African president Nelson Mandela.
