What the course is all about

This course trains you be a nurse aid.

Keep in mind that a nurse aid is simply a health-care worker who has been trained to assist nurses (whether in hospitals,  nursing home, homes for the aged, and more).

So, how do you assist?

Well, in giving basic patient care as well as services like feeding,  bathing, or even measuring the vital signs -e.g. blood pressure- of patients)

Community Health Assistant Course in Kenya

Here you are trained to become a CHA(Community Health Assistant), who is essentially a healthcare professional whose job is to provide two things to both individuals and communities(at large):

  • Primary/Basic healthcare services (e.g. Deworming)
  • Health education

Do not forget that CHAs in Kenya typically work in rural and/or under-served areas(regions where access to critical healthcare services is limited)

This will see you work as a records assistant in the records department in a hospital/medical center.

  • D-( D minus) in Mathematics

Certificate in Health Promotion for Deaf (CHPD)]

This is for deaf students(with hearing disability) and sees you work as a health promoter/educator among people living with  hearing disability…and normal-abled people too sometimes

This course enables you to work as an assistant dietician (the work of a dietician is to help people eat healthy by defining nutritious meals based on their medical conditions) in medical institutions.

What I would advise you is to proceed to the Diploma level of whatever course you take….You and I know that there are more opportunities (and a better pay) for Diploma Holders than those who get satisfied with a certificate course.
